Sheri Humphreys is on a serious roll toward major success! First she was chosen as the ultimate winner of a pitch contest by Deb Werksman, Chief Acquisition Editor of Sourcebooks Casablanca and Landmark, for Courageous Heart. The prize is a full submission request. Awesome, Sheri!
Then, days later, Sheri received a positive response from an agent query asking for a full synopsis and the first 3 chapters. WOW!!! Major congratulations to Sheri!

Sharon Lathan is thrilled to share a wonderful 3-page article on her publishing journey and the Darcy Saga novels that appeared in the June 2010 edition of Visalia's Lifestyle Magazine. Look for the magazine all over the place if you live in the Visalia area, or check it out online on page 36--

Book Fest: Gail Lucas and Sunny Frazier have announced the 2nd
annual Book Fest will be held on August 14 at the Hanford Mall starting
at 9am. YRW will be involved in some way with Sharon Lathan and Ginny
Christensen planning to sell/sign books. More info as details are
decided, but note the date!

Congratulations and Good Luck to Carrie Spencer, one of our online, long-distance members who is actively preparing her manuscript partial for submission to Harlequin Modern Heat. JoAnne Lucas, our famed cross-over crime/romance writer, was honored with the Coveted Dead Bird award - Yes, you read that right! - from the Sisters in Crime for her novel Don't Be Cruel. Congratulations JoAnne!! And yes indeed, the award was a dead bird statue!
