This hands on workshop will focus on finding your character’s backstory, specifically the dark moment in their past that formed who they are, what they want in life, and the lie they believe about themselves. We’ll ask our characters lots of questions and we’ll dive deeply into their psyches. Come prepared to answer lots of “why”s.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to summarize their stories into a one or two sentence pitch (aka logline) and create taglines (hooks) to use on book covers and in book promotion.

Attendees should bring a two-four paragraph summary of their story to participate in the group exercises.
